Travelling to Tokyo is not exactly affordable for some, but bringing Tokyo to KL makes it all possible (at least to a certain extent).
A newly refurbished wing on the 6th Floor of Pavilion KL, has recently re-introduces itself as the Tokyo Street. Though the area wasn’t huge, the new wing of the mall has been filled with Japanese Restaurants, J-Themed Shopping Outlets, and even a section for Japanese Street/Culture Performances. The Tokyo-like setup of the shops/outlets/stalls coupled with a plain spread of artificial skylight over them promotes the Japanese street environment, hence, the name. Although many would think that this is no fresh concept, as some re-known mall outside the city has already established it’s Japanese theme shopping section years ago. Well, that turned out to be a lil’ too Harajuku, which we think, only attracts certain age groups’ liking, unlike the new Tokyo Street has somewhat of a more general appeal to all. And this is a plus point.
So if you are in Kuala Lumpur or Pavilion, this is a place you should check out.
